The Gujarati diaspora in Great Britain are said to be more addicted to their past rather than be proactive , and thereby, be a part of the mainstream life in their host country.The psychological hiatus between the local population and the immigrants all over the world creates problems of adjustment leading to misunderstandings, suspicion and alienation.
This very obviously applies to the Muslim minority in India.There is a wall of misunderstanding between the majority and the minority in India which has proved detrimental to the integrity, harmony and peace in the country.We need to undertake a national movement for interfaith understanding on a continuing basis, don't we?
It's a question of one's free will. It should be genuinely free to operate all the times freely and independently. This can happen only if one is free from fear ,greed , biases and myopia.This requires a saint like mental attitude.
Mind is unstable. It gets swayed by slightest pull, one way or another. This instability of mind renders it incapable of being firmly rooted to one idea or belief or view point. And this is the cause of many a pitfall mind is susceptible to. The path is so slippery!
Examine yourself first before trying to examine someone else.
ReplyDeleteBut it is difficult to examine one's own self objectively.Hence the tendency to make moral judgement about others, which is so easy and safe!
